βΎ Game Rules
- Roster: 10 players in the field. A team with fewer than 7 players forfeits.
- Lineup: everyone bats. Pinch runners permitted for injured or unable players.
- Count: each at-bat starts with one ball and one strike. The batter is allowed up to three (3) total foul balls before being called out; if the batter takes a strike during the at-bat, only two (2) total foul balls are allowed.
- Foul tips: if the catcher catches a foul ball above their head, the batter is out.
- Pitcher's lines: a batted ball that strikes the pitcher is an out.
- Home runs: one per inning serves as a warning. Each additional home run is an automatic out.
- Lead-offs: runners may not leave the base until the ball leaves the pitcher's hand. Back-picks must be a tag.
- Commitment line: none β runners may return to third at any time.
- Sportsmanship: no arguing calls.
π Tournament Format
- Two pools of 3 teams each
- Pool play games are 6 innings or 50 minutes, whichever comes first
- 5-run limit per inning during pool play β except the 6th (last) inning, which is open with no run cap
- Mercy rule: a game ends early if the trailing team can't catch up given the 5-run-per-inning cap (e.g. down 11 going into the 5th). Does not apply going into the open 6th
- No new inning after 40 minutes. Drop-dead at 50 minutes β finish the current at-bat, then the game is over. If the drop-dead hits mid-inning, the score reverts to the last completed inning
- Top team from each pool advances to the finals
- Finals is a 7-inning game β no time limit
- Standings decided by record. Ties broken by head-to-head β fewest runs allowed β runs scored β who knows what
